We have heard many workshop participants commented that sandplay therapy is too abstract to comprehend. In light of this, we are going to offer a two half-day workshop this summer which will give participants hands-on experience to work on the initial phase of sandplay therapy. We will focus on practicable approaches for participants to grasp how to use sandplay to work with their clients.

Trainer: Amy Leung Wai Yin, Ph.D.

This workshop will aim at enhancing therapists’ competency in working with clients in the initial phase of sandplay therapy. We will focus on the opening journey of the sandplay process. Other than basic concepts, Dr. Leung will teach on themes and considerations in understanding sandplay.
HKSTA Executive Committee Members will present cases to demonstrate the initial phase in sandplay therapy. We will use many cases to illustrate the components in the initial phase in sandplay therapy. Small group work will allow participants to engage in the formulation process and to practice how to open ourselves to clients’ sand work. Click here to download form
