“Always be yourself, unless you can be a unicorn…., then always be a unicorn.” This statement always pops up in pictures with unicorn in recent years. Unicorn is a metaphor of individuation and it is about the search of one’s identity to become oneself. Symbolically, unicorn combines two parts: “white horse” and “spiral horn”. It is a symbol of inner journey and the healing power of oneself. As more and more people intrigued by the symbol of unicorn, and more and more products on unicorn are on the market, we will explore in this study group what the collective unconsciousness is telling us about this phenomenon, and how unicorn symbolizes in sand trays. We will have sandplay case studies to illustrate the unicorn symbol.
